摘要

The writers thank the discussers for their interest in the paper. The principal aim of the research presented in the discussed paper is to adopt a second order accurate finite volume method (FVM) for real-world applications. In order to obtain such a final result, extensive, preliminary work was done on simple, idealized cases for which analytical solutions were available. In fact, the accurate reproduction of such cases is the necessary condition in order to test the reliability of any numerical method. Each part of the code is separately tested, isolating the different sources of complexity, in order to maintain the highest reliability possible on the final version of the code that is designed to work on real, complicated geometries.
