HUD has issued a report entitled "Characteristics of HUD-Assisted Renters and Their Units in 2003," which covers rental housing assistance in 2003 for low-income families and individuals in three basic categories: 1) Conventional public housing, 2) Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers, and 3) Privately-owned assisted housing, including Rent Supplements, Section 221(d)(3) Below Market Interest Rate, Section 202 Supportive Housing for the Elderly, Section 236 Mortgage Assistance, Section 8 New Construction, Substantial Rehabilitation, Moderate Rehabilitation, and some other smaller programs.
