The data in this article is taken from The State of the Nation's Housing, which is the Joint Center for Housing Studies of Harvard University's annual report on trends in the housing market. The report discusses the demographic and economic forces that shape housing demand and supply, and looks closely at issues of the changing markets for housing production and homebuying, impacts on the rental market, housing's role in the economy, the role of immigrants and minorities in driving housing demand, and persistent and growing housing affordability challenges for both renters and owners.
