A Hungarian in London: Pulszky's 1851 lecture

Ferenc Pulszky was a Hungarian politician, revolutionary, lawyer, collector, archaeologist and national-museum director. During his exile in London, 1849-60, he became well known in political, social and intellectual circles. During this period (in 1851) he gave a lecture – the subject of this paper – which is full of remarkably forward-looking judgements and proposals concerning museum display and education.
