Having been in a position to employ candidates for key positions in an organisation, my interest was captured by the intriguing title Why are we bad at picking good leaders? Though sometimes, the candidates selected do not meet our expectations, did it mean that we did not know what we were looking for? What made us unable to pick the right candidate? What if most of our criteria were met by the selected candidate but the outcome was still not up to expectations, do we have to continue searching while the position remains vacant until we find the appropriate candidate?
