摘要

Industry, municipal water discharges, atmospheric pollution, coastal erosion, river flows, etc. are some of the heavy metal resources for natural basins. High levels of metal in surface water can pose a risk to humans and the environment. The study was carried out during 2015 and has assessed the water pollution by heavy metals, such as chrome and nickel, in three water areas of the Ohrid Lake: (a) at the entrance of the city of Pogradec (boat hull); (b) the area of Guri Kuq, and (c) at the Lin village area. Commenting on the results of the analysis can be pointed out that the highest content of two heavy metals has been proven in the cane plant tissue {Phragmites australis) which populated the nearby shore of Lake Ohrid in the Guri and Kuq area. In this area has been operating in the past an enrichment plant for the iron-nickel mineral. Heavy metals content at moderate levels has been found in the shore area of the waters lake at the entrance of the city of Pogradec. Source of pollution may be urban discharges and the presence of fuel distributors.
