摘要

Extensive stabnds of cane (Arundinaria gigantea) known as canebrakcs were a dominant landscape feature in the southeastern United States at the time of European settlement. Hundreds of thousands of hectares were characterized by this Ecosystem, which rapidly disappeared following settlement and is now regarded as Critically endangered. Canebrake fauna is poor.
