THE NAGS HEAD WOODS COLLECTIONS OF THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE CAPE HATTERAS NATIONAL SEASHORE HERBARIUM (CAHA)

A search of the vascular plant collections of the herbarium of the National Park Service Cape Hatteras National Seashore Unit (CAHA), Manteo, North Carolina, was undertaken as part of a greater effort to document the flora of the Nags Head Woods Ecological Preserve (Kill Devil Hills, Dare Co.)―one of the best remaining examples of mid-Atlantic maritime deciduous forest. As no voucher specimens were cited by previous workers, this study not only documents the Nags Head Woods holdings of CAHA, but additionally serves as the first preliminary, vouchered checklist of plants from the preserve.
