New Material, Process Make Better Lithium Ion Battery

Lithium ion batteries have been on the spotlight for their use in mobile devices as well as motor drives of electric and hybrid vehicles. Most negative electrodes of lithium ion batteries have a structure in which graphite-based carbon crystal layers and lithium layers are laminated alternately. Lithium ion batteries used in automobiles demand stricter safety measures than those used in mobile devices.
