NEXT GENERATION JAMMER LOW-BAND COMPETITION KICKS OFF

The article reports that Lockheed Martin and Cobham PLC are teaming up to compete for development of the Next Generation Jammer (NGJ) Low Band system for the U.S. Navy's E/A-18G Growler EW aircraft. The NGJ is intended to replace the aging AN/ALQ-99 EW jamming system now carried on the aircraft and overcome the challenges posed by modern, digitally-based, phased-array air-defense radars utilizing ever more agile and complex waveforms.
