MULTIBAND DOWNCONVERTERS

Pentek has introduced a new line of modular, multi-band RF downconverters. The Model 8111 slot receiver accepts RF signals from 800 MHz to 3 GHz and downconverts them to an 80-MHz-wide 225-MHz IF signal for analog-to-digital conversion by signal acquisition modules. Each tuner is configured with one of seven different 400-MHz bandwidth preselector filters covering the 800-MHz to 3-GHz range with overlaps, to avoid gaps in the RF spectrum coverage. Low noise amplifiers and two programmable attenuators accommodate RF input signals from -60 dBm to -20 dBm, and deliver a nominal IF output level of 0 dBm.
