Instructions to Authors

JDH conducts double-blinded peer reviews. When uploading your manuscript it should include no author-identifying information (designate as Main Document). A separate title page (designate as Title Page) should be uploaded with author details, any acknowledgements, and an address for correspondence with readers. Papers are now invited for the Editorial Board's consideration. Manuscripts must be submitted online (please go to www.jdh.oxfordjournals.org and follow the Instructions to Authors). Authors may not submit papers which are under consideration for publication elsewhere. The Editorial Secretary will notify authors as soon as possible (normally within three months) of the Editorial Board's decision on the acceptability of their paper. In some cases papers may be accepted for publication subject to certain revisions. The Editorial Board and its advisers cannot undertake to enter into correspondence with authors whose papers are considered unsuitable for publication; in such cases the Editorial Board's decision will be final. Neither the Editorial Board of the Journal nor the publishers accept responsibility for the views authors express in their contributions.rnAs a rule, full articles should not exceed 6,000 words (endnotes and references will not be counted as part of this total). Longer articles will be considered on their merits. The text should be prepared in accordance with the instructions given below.
