Mr. Chairman and members of the Committee, thank you for inviting me here today to comment on the policy implications of the Internet of Things. My name is Adam Thierer, and I am a senior research fellow at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University, where I study technology policy. My message today is condensed from a recent book and a forthcoming law review article on the Internet of Things, which refers to a world full of "smart" devices equipped with sensing and networking capabilities.
