摘要

This paper reports the growth and X-ray diffraction of Nd~(3+)-doped Ba_3Y(BO_3)_3 crystal. A Nd~(3+) -doped Ba_3Y(BO_3)_3 crystal with space group R3 and dimensions of 20mm diameter and 25mm length has been grown by the Czochralski method. The grown crystals were characterized using X-ray diffraction and DTA methods. Results show that the Ba_3Y(BO_3)_3 crystal with space group R3 belongs to high-temperature phase (α-Ba_3Y(BO_3)_3), and the Ba_3Y(BO_3)_3 crystal with space group P6_3cm belongs to the low-temperature phase (β-Ba_3Y(BO_3)_3). The phase transition temperature is 1148℃. X-ray powder diffraction patterns of two polymorphs were obtained. The spectral properties of α-Nd~(3+) :Ba_3Y(BO_3)_3 crystal were investigated.
