The European court of justice & the policy process

In their monumental volume Policy-Making in the EU, the seventh edition of which was published in 2015, Helen Wallace et al.* suggested that of all the policy-producing sources within the European Union (EU), the European Court of Justice (ECJ) was by far the most productive - 'positively entrepreneurial' indeed! In the years since the adoption of the Lisbon Treaty, Justice and Home Affairs (JHA) have moved from a peripheral concern to a central element in European integration, and the Court's impact on policy in that field is the subject of this new volume.
