Approaching the European Federation?

While Professor Dosenrode's foray into the 'F' debate will be much welcomed by Euro-federalists, this will probably not be the case for any of the major UK political parties for two fundamental reasons: the book not only argues that the European Union (EU) is a federation, but also that the EU is a state. To confound matters, it is a federation based on the German model! (Well, with the federal tradition of cooperation stemming from the Holy Roman Empire, but German nonetheless. The 'don't mention the war' mentality of Basil Fawlty and 'popular culture' still applies in the UK.)rnThe book itself consists of nine chapters, four written by Professor Dosenrode, with the remaining chapters focusing on 'traditional' issues of EU studies, such as foreign policy, economic and monetary union, the role of the regions and the constitution.
