High Performance Computing is ubiquitous in most areas of Science and Engineering today. In addition, the advent of multi-core processors makes is increasingly important for programmers practitioners researchers educators and others, to be able to harness the full potential of these new technological advances. Multi-core processors are widely used across a wide spectrum of disciplines and application areas.
