The accurate prediction of output power over the requisite time has a vital role in the photovoltaic (PV) industry. Reliability is the measurement of quality or consistency of measured output. Reliability analysis is the procedure for determining successful operation of the system with maintenance and without maintenance. We present the concept of analyzing the reliability of a semitransparent photovoltaic solar module and an algorithm using an artificial neural network (ANN) to enhance the reliability of semitransparent photovoltaic solar modules. We present an algorithm to determine the maximum reliability in minimum time with maintenance. The developed algorithm uses results of some existing studies available in the literature for training purposes of the ANN model. Reliability analysis is very important to increase the overall performance of any photovoltaic system for large-scale applications at minimum cost. We present a generalized ANN model for reliability analysis of a semitransparent photovoltaic solar module on the basis of cost modeling.
