摘要

The prospects of the combined processing of L-band images obtained by synthetic-aperture radars (SARs) and spectrozonal images obtained by an MSU-E optical multispectral scanner for the classification of forest communities are considered. The results of processing show that the combination of images obtained in the radio-wave and optical bands by element-wise multiplication of the normalized radar cross section (NRCS) and the normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) arrays guarantees an improved classification of forest tracts and separation of leafless (needleless) forests.
