This edited volume consists of conference papers presented in Taipei in 2013, and is organized into three parts with ten chapters intended to shed light on the slogan of "China Dream" as introduced by President Xi Jinping in 2012. The editors, Chih-shian Liou and Arthur Ding, have contributed to our understanding of what this concept means and its implications in different policy areas. Interpreting the meaning of the "China Dream" has gained in popularity since its promulgation and is interpreted differently domestically and abroad. Some scholars view it as a political slogan of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to divert attention from domestic issues, while others regard it as a national desire to regain lost glory and power.
