GIS-A Tool to Change Traditional Way of Mineral Resources Appraisal

Because of the wide application of digital spatial information technology to geology, a large spatial database in geology, geophysics, geochemistry and remote sensing is constructed, resulting in a change in conditions, methods and targets of mineral resources appraisal (MRA). In this pa- per, the difference between the GIS-based MRA and the traditional MRA is studied.
