The British dirigible R-100 moored at St. Hubert, Quebec in August 1930. The only rigid airship ever to visit Canada, the R-100 spent 12 days in this country, including a 26 hour flight over Ottawa, Toronto, and southern Ontario. Upon returning to England, and following the tragedy of the R-101, the R-100 was hangared until it was broken up during the period from December 1931 to February 1932 and sold for scrap. The event brought the Empire's airship era to an end.
