'Financial Globalisation and Sustainable Finance: Implications for Policy and Practice'

The European Centre for Corporate Engagement (ECCE) at the Maastricht University and the University of Stellenbosch Business School (USB) are very pleased to invite you to submit papers to their joint conference on Financial Globalisation and Sustainable Finance: Implications for Policy and Practice. The Journal of Banking and Finance will devote a special edition to this conference. The on-going challenges of managing the consequences of the global financial crisis have generated much academic and policy debate. The academic community is just beginning to understand the lessons from this crisis. Of major concern is the stability of the financial system: In the medium to long run, a financial system is only sustainable when it is stable. At the same time, concerns over the impact of financial institutions' actions lead to the question of how important a stable financial system is for sustainability in finance.
