摘要

Vibrato is an essential quality of many musical sounds, especially in singing as well as the bowed string and many wind musical instruments. This paper describes a collection of signal processing methods and a toolbox for extracting and analyzing vibrato-related parameters from solo audio recordings. In the methods described herein, the first step is to isolate the sonic partials of a musical sound. This step is followed by tracking and parameterization of the instantaneous amplitude and frequency of each harmonic partial. Visualization and re-synthesis algorithms are also included in the toolbox, which can be used for applications ranging from music performance pedagogy and musicological research to the manipulation of recorded audio and the acoustic characterization of recording spaces.
