On October 30 the Brazil Section met at Expo Center Norte Convention Center to discuss live sound. Jose Carlos Giner, an acoustical consultant, spoke about noise control in outdoor shows and festivals; Fernando Nar-ciso, an audio engineer with over 20 years experience mixing for artists such as Black Alien, Criolo, Luiza Possi, Arnaldo Antunes, Elza Soares, Esperanza Spalding, Ray Charles, B.B. King, Nina Simone, and others, spoke on his house mixing techniques and how he got started in the business. This meeting was sponsored by Audio Systems, local distributor for Digico and Allen & Heath digital mixing consoles. Two of their product specialists also made presentations on digital console workflow and they had several consoles available for attendees to get to do some hands-on training.
