THE ART OF ARCHITECTURAL DECORATION IN THE TRADITIONAL HOUSES OF AL-ALKHALAF, SAUDI ARABIA

摘要

The traditional art of architectural decoration, as still prevails in the Al-Alkhalaf settlement of the Asir region of southwestern Saudi Arabia, furnishes a history of aesthetic ornamentation which can be beneficial to those involved with contemporary Saudi design. Aside from the beauty of form seen in its traditional buildings, Al-Alkhalaf village displays a noteworthy tradition of the use of interior color decoration.
