Organized in three distinct but interrelated sections titled "Constitution," "City," and "Monument", A Constitutional Modernism is both a work of great length and great scholarship. Weaving together Cuban politics, law and legislation, and planning, it traces a detailed portrait of the Cuban political and architectural context between the early 1930s and 1959. This combination of expertise—law with architecture and urbanism—is a rare one and is clearly one of the major selling points of the book.
