FAA and Industry Collaborate on Essential UAS Research

FAA researchers and their UAS industry partners will continue to work together to study and face the key challenges of deriving the technical information needed to develop standards that support the safe integration of UAS into the NAS. These joint research activities focus on UAS certification, continued airworthiness, and operational safety issues. The CRDAs will continue to provide overall guidance to ensure that both FAA research objectives and UAS partner priorities are met, and that these initiatives are well coordinated to achieve the planned goals of advancing the safe integration of UAS into the NAS, and of supporting the advancement of NextGen."
