I just returned from Association Executive Leadership training hosted by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). The event was the organization's annual "Great Ideas" conference. While there, I had valuable discussions about best practices with leaders from other associations, both larger and smaller than ATCA, and from a range of different industries. I can't say I had one "Ah-ha" moment while at the conference, but more a series of small pieces of information that when put together help define what a successful association looks like. We discussed that the association landscape - and even more so, the conference landscape - is changing every day. Industries that were once not represented are now entering the space and vying for your time and your money.
