Penny Reynolds, Access Services at University of Texas at Tyler, told the list she was thinking of putting an ATM in her library. She wanted to know if anyone who already had one had encountered any problems or issues. Only a few responded, but those who did had only positive things to say. The only thing mentioned that might be seen as a problem was that at one library if the machine was bumped a certain way, it would beep loudly. Otherwise it was a service much appreciated by patrons. On the question of how to initiate the service, one poster said he had worked with his business office to get one installed. Another said the local banks bid on who got to put theirs in the library.
