A Farewell and Welcome to Managing Editors

It is bittersweet to say farewell to Suzanne Mink, Managing Editor of JVME from 2004 through September 2008, and to welcome to her successor, Cindy DeLano. Suzanne served two editors and two interim editors; to her credit and our gratitude, the transition to my appointment was transparent to readers. Suzanne's dedication, skills, and attention to detail kept manuscripts flowing to the satisfaction of JVME's editors, Editorial Board, authors, reviewers, and readers and of our publisher, the University of Toronto Press. Suzanne will be missed as she returns to her artistic calling as designer and creator of high-fashion window decorations. nnAfter an extensive search of applicants, Cindy DeLano was selected for her qualifications and experience in scientific publishing, which fit well with JVME and AAVMC. She served as Editorial and Production Manager for the American Gastroenterological Association, Book Publishing Division; prior to that appointment, she managed the editing and production of 10 scientific journals for the American Psychological Association. She also served as Associate Editor for Aspen Publishers. When she is not shepherding me and other journal participants, Cindy is a devoted adoptee of cats who visit her doorstep for a free lunch and affection. We welcome Cindy to the JVME team and look forward to her contributions to the growth of the journal.
