堀ロ捨己の建築思想における中柱の意味

摘要

The purpose of this paper is to clarify the meaning of "Center-Post", that is a very important part in a tea room, presented by Horiguchi Sutemi in his architectural thought, through analyzing his wide-ranging tea room research. According to Horiguchi, the center-post is supposed to establish "balance" between the two important elements of the tea room, i.e., the ro and the tokonoma. In this manuscript, we intend to interpret the meaning of "balance" and the characteristics of the tokonoma and the center-post as the establishment background of this "balancing."
