Norway funds first phase of JSM

Kongsberg Gruppen has signed a contract with the Norwegian Defence Procurement Division for the first phase of the development of the Joint Strike Missile (JSM), writes Doug Richardson.rnThe contract, worth NOK166 million (USD25 million), is due to be completed within 18 months.rnJSM will be an air-launched version of the surface-launched Naval Strike Missile (NSM) anti-ship weapon. Intended for service on Norway's fivernFridtjof Nansen-class frigates and six Skjold-class fast strike craft, the NSM is now in production for the armed forces of Norway and Poland. It successfully completed its first end-to-end test on 31 January. This ended with a hit on the target ship and detonation of the missile's warhead.
