Raytheon to analyse Tomahawk JMEWS warhead

Raytheon Missile Systems has been awarded an Advanced Technology Study contract by the US Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) to investigate a new multi-effect warhead system for the Tomahawk land-attack cruise missile, writes Doug Richardson.rnUnder a USD250,000 Joint Capability Technology Demonstration contract award, Raytheon will be required to perform engineering and analysis for the integration of a Joint Multiple-Effects Warhead System (JMEWS) into a Tomahawk Block IV missile. According to NAVAIR, the JMEWS "will be designed to bernintegrated into a Block IV Tomahawk because its extended operating range and in-flight command and control are critical to successfully mitigating the identified capability gap".
