Detect to defeat: UK demonstrates sovereign self-protection against MANPADS threats

Under funding provided by the UK Ministry of Defence's (MoD's) Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl), Thales UK and Leonardo Airborne & Space Systems have demonstrated the integrated end-to-end capability of their respective Elix-IR infrared threat warning system (IRTWS) and Miysis directed infrared counter-measures (DIRCM) system during a trial in northern Sweden.
