Apparent intelligence failures highlight resurgent terrorism threat in the UK

The efficiency of counter-terrorism intelligence in the United Kingdom was called into question following a vehicle-impact and knife attack around London Bridge on 3 June that left eight people dead and 48 wounded. It was the third Islamist terrorist attack in the UK in three months, following a 22 March attack on the Palace of Westminster and a 22 May suicide improvised explosive device attack on the Manchester Arena.
