Syrian S-300s now PMU2s Russian technicians have completed the conversion of the S-300 long-range air-defence systems delivered to Syria to the S-300PMU2 export standard, the TASS news agency reported on 7 November. It quoted a military diplomatic source as saying that the systems delivered to Syria in October were originally a mix of S-300PM and S-300PM2 components. "Now all three S-300PMU2 battalions are ready for combat work in Syria. It remains to complete training of the Syrian military on the equipment," the source said. A Russian Ministry of Defence spokesman said the Polyana-D4 command-and-control system has also been delivered.
