The US Navy (USN) and US Marine Corps (USMC) chiefs have reaffirmed their support for President Barack Obama's defence strategy, but warned that affordability challenges could undermine their efforts to rebalance in the Asia-Pacific region. In a joint appearance in Washington, DC, on 11 July, the USN's Chief of Naval Operations, Admiral Jonathan Greenert, and USMC Commandant General James Amos said that the two services are evaluating their fleet capacity to support the Department of Defense's (DoD's) ongoing pivot to the Pacific.
