Stanza is a British artist who creates art based on a wide range of digitally collected data. He writes that, "These artworks represent the movement of people, pollution in the air, the vibrations and sounds of buildings. They are in effect emergent social sculptures visualizing the emotional state of the city." Created between 2004 and 2009, Stanza's Sensity series is based on data he collected from urban environments. Using wireless networks with thousands of sensors, he recorded real time information such as light, temperature, sound, air pressure, pollution, position, and humidity in a city, which in turn formed the basis of an artwork.
