See Yourself E(x)ist features artwork exploring our human future in nature and our own inevitable transformation, evolution, and decay. At times whimsical, poetic, and disturbing, the exhibit presents imagined incidences of human interactions with the natural world-with animals, insects, leaves, trees, and earth-that yield extraordinary artifacts, engineered forms of hope, and objects of control. Using video, robotics, interactive objects, paintings, and sculpture, the artists have created works including a bear hibernation station, a pseudo photosynthetic factory, alternative skin, eyeglasses for a cyclops, and post-human biological systems. The art acknowledges the futility of our attempts at permanence, the absurdity of some technological advances, and our human ingenuity.Through a mix of fantasy and darkness, the exhibition poses the question: What is the future of our relationship with nature?
