IBM i GUI Interface Design Using REALbasic

The lowest common denominator for cross-platform application development is the web, because every end-user client has a browser these days. But web UIs can be quite limited, and sometimes you need the power of a native desktop application to achieve the UI your application requires. You can develop portable apps in object-oriented (OO) languages such as Java or Ruby, but these have a long learning curve, tend to perform poorly, and can be complex to debug. An alternative is the BASIC-language variant REALbasic, which is quick to learn; runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux platforms; sports a slick Rapid Application Development (RAD) environment; and performs very well. It's great for developing GUI front ends to IBM i applications.
