Performance Evaluation of Applying a Computer-assisted Writing Tool to Proofreading Manuals

Software, when viewed as a total product, requires not only high quality in the software it- self, but also in the user manuals delivered with it. Meticulous proofreading is an essential step in developing high quality manuals, first by the technical writer who wrote the manuscript, and then by an editor when writing is finished (or when the manuscript is completed). To make proofreading efficient and effective, it is important to make it easier to detect mis- takes in expression.
