Today, photovoltaic technology has reached previously unheard of levels of efficiency and can be integrated easily into modern architectural projects. Its seamless melting with curtain walls and glass coverings opens up a whole range of new architectural styles in which a "structural" part of a design can play an active role in cutting energy consumption. Photovoltaic canopies are an excellent example of this. Not only do they provide protection from sunlight and weather agents, but they are also a source of precious, and clean, energy.
