Michael Jek to retire after more than 42 years with NYK Line

Hamburg-based NYK Line (Germany) bid its authorised signatory Michael Jek farewell on 30 September, when he retired. After more than 42 years of service Jek knew every facet of the liner shipping business. The veteran started his training at the line agency Van Om-rnmeren in Hamburg in 1968, and was present when NYK Line first introduced its full container service within the framework of the Trio group in Germany. From 2001 on, Jek served as general manager in charge of human resources and administration. This task has been temporarily taken over by Kerstin Senff.
