An Analysis of the Lack of Achieving Planned Growth in the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA)

This study aims at identifying the achievement of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) in Jordan during the first five years since its launch. It was found that ASEZA's achievements on the ground were much smaller than those registered or announced, meaning that most of the announced achievements are rather fictional than real. Companies are taking such action in order to take the benefits from the ASEZA. In terms of the number of enterprises, the difference between what is registered and what is actually operational reached 449. In terms of capital, it reached 311372579 JD. In terms of offered job opportunities, it reached 7502.
