摘要

This paper presents a performance analysis of the Indentifier Splitting Algorithm combined with polling, a contention resolution scheme used to inform the Base Station about the bandwidth needs of the Mobile Station in a wireless ATM network. An analytical model leads to the evaluation of performance parameters whcih determine the throughput and the access delay of the algorithm for different system parameters. This analysis is used to investigate the influence of the system paraemters on the performance, from which guidelines for parameter tuning can be derived.
