Few subjects generate as much passion and controversy as the Middle East, and many are likely to react to King's Counsel based on their preconceived notions. Some will see Jack O'Connell, who served as the Central Intelligence Agency's chief of station in Amman, Jordan, from 1963 to 1971, as an unprincipled shill for King Hussein of Jordan. Others may conclude that he was trying to provide an Arab perspective that usually gets little attention or sympathy, especially in the United States.
