This paper touched on a few challenges and innovations in providing healthcare to diverse populations. It presents the authors' viewpoint on two important innovations, namely cultural competence and two medical devices that can contribute to improving access to healthcare in developing as well as developed countries. Cultural competence and technology together will equip the healthcare system to provide accurate and cost-effective diagnosis and treatment to meet individuals' medical requirements.
