Editorial

Welcome to the first issue of 2011. We should like to take this opportunity to thank our reviewers, the people working on our Journal behind the scenes in Elsevier, all of you who send us papers and of course our readers who make this Journal the success that it is. We begin the issue with a Special Section comprising an Editorial from Brian Detlor, DeGroote School of Business, McMaster University, Canada and Chu Wei Choo, Faculty of Information, University of Toronto, Canada and three selected papers from the "Information and Knowledge Management" track for the 2010 Annual Meeting of the American Society for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T). They both chaired this track and in their Editorial they provide background on the ASIS&T organization, the 2010 ASIS&T Annual Meeting, and give an introduction to three selected papers that were submitted to the track and presented at the Annual Meeting.
