A porous 3d-4f heterometallic metal-organic framework for hydrogen storage

A heterometallic metal-organic framework, {[Ce(oda)_3Zn_(1.5)(H_2O)_3]·0.75H_2O}_n (1, H_2oda = oxydiacetic acid), has been synthesized under hydrothermal condition. The single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that compound 1 belongs to hexagonal crystal system with space group P6/mcc and exhibits 3D porous framework. The hydrogen adsorption experiments suggest that 1 possesses reversible hydrogen storage capacity, up to 1.34 wt.% at 77 K and 0.86 wt.% at 298 K, respectively.
